The client
Excellent Jobs is a recruitment marketplace for the hospitality industry, built for hotels, restaurants, canteens, catering and wellness businesses in Germany and run from its headquarters in Estonia. Its founders combine years of turning around hotels and restaurants with a software background, and the platform is backed by industry partners including the VKD (the German chefs' association) and HoGa-Netz.
Hospitality employers were still hiring with dated job ads that said little about the role, and good candidates got lost on generic job boards. With staff shortages across the industry, Excellent Jobs needed a platform that matches people on real skills instead of keywords, and lets both sides connect quickly and fairly.
What we built
A two-sided web platform with separate journeys for recruiters and candidates. Candidates build their profile and CV, then rate their skills on the Balance Board, from Basic to Excellent, across kitchen, service, front-office and management roles. Recruiters post job offers with the skills and levels they need, and the matching engine ranks the best candidates for every vacancy.
Around the matching we built chat, favourites and follow lists, one-click applications, real-time notifications, team accounts with multi-user access, and flexible pricing with a yearly premium plan or pay-per-contact. The platform runs in English, German, French and Spanish, and candidates can install it on their phone as a Progressive Web App.
How it works: Recruiter posts a job with the skills needed → candidates rate their skills on the Balance Board → the matching engine lists the best fits → both sides chat, follow and connect in one click.

ACIAGA designed the UX/UI and built the web app in AngularJS with a Java backend, including the skill-matching engine and the installable PWA.
